Series 7, branded Skins Redux, aired in three two-episode arcs between July and August 2013. Each arc focused on a single returning character from Generations 1 or 2, functioning more as feature-length character studies than ensemble television. Effy (Kaya Scodelario), Cassie (Hannah Murray), and Cook (Jack O'Connell) each received a standalone arc set years after their original school years. The format stripped away the school setting and the generational-cohort logic entirely, resulting in work that leans more ambitious than the preceding two series. It also works as a fitting farewell to the show's most beloved characters, one that a third standard generation would not have achieved as effectively. The series concluded August 5, 2013.
